Irish Cows

. These cows followed me home after my visit to the land of my ancestors in Skull, County Cork, Ireland. The first painting is what I saw in Ireland. The rest, COWS ON CANVAS and COWS ON PAPER are cow spirits that come to my studio to play. Irish lore is rich with tales of the sacred cow archetype. She is associated with such qualities as patience, nourishment, abundance, potential, fertility, female power, calming, groundedness, generosity, nature, birth and motherhood. I feel her playfulness as well as her steady groundedness as she visits the studio. I hope these paintings will bring some of her energy to you.
